There was a time when comic books seemed to be ignored or overlooked by many people, but these days, superhero movies are the hottest thing in Hollywood, and everyone absolutely adores watching the world-saving exploits and adventures of Marvel legends like Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thor, and the Hulk.
The Avengers movies have been huge hits all over the world, breaking box office records and setting a new cinematic standard for super-powered, blockbuster action epics. These movies let us lose ourselves in fantastic worlds where cape and armor-wearing heroes can indeed save the day.
And a big part of why these movies have been so successful is the fantastic cast. From Robert Downey Jr. in the role of Iron Man to Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, each and every member of the cast is a joy to watch. In fact, they’re so convincing in their hero roles, it’s easy for us to forget that off-screen, they’re just regular humans with lives and love stories.
And some of those love stories are particularly heartwarming and inspirational. Some of the Avengers cast members have been married for years, while others are still dating and hoping to find ‘the one.’ Read on to learn all about the love lives of your favorite heroes.

Chadwick Boseman is an amazing actor who makes Black Panther come to life. Born and raised in South Carolina, Chadwick Boseman isn’t married or engaged, and his love life has been a subject of debate, but it seems like he’s dating Taylor Simone Ledward.
The pair have been photographed and spotted together on numerous occasions. Taylor is a singer with a degree in music industry studies, and the first photos of her and Chadwick were taken back in 2015, so their relationship might have been going on for quite a while.
Captain Marvel – Brie Larson
Captain Marvel is only just about to hit cinema screens all over the world, making this hero the newest addition to the universe of the Avengers, and a ton of hype has already been generated.
Millions of fans all over the globe can’t wait to see what Brie Larson can bring to this role. The Oscar-winning actress will be playing Carol Danvers, a former Air Force pilot who develops amazing superhuman strength and intense fighting skills.
Brie Larson Was Engaged to Alex Greenwald
The current relationship status of Brie Larson is a bit of a mystery. She’s quite a private person who doesn’t really like to show off too much of her private life to the world, but we did know that she was engaged to Alex Greenwald from 2016 until early 2019.
Recent reports seem to suggest that the engagement has been called off and the pair might have entirely separated or are perhaps just taking a break. Greenwald is the lead singer of the LA rock band Phantom Planet.
Vision – Paul Bettany
One of the more mysterious members of the Avengers team, Vision has bamboozled and fascinated audiences since his introduction to the franchise in the second film, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Made by the villainous Ultron, Vision is instantly recognizable for his red skin and unique outfit. He’s almost like a robot in his way of moving and talking, but does still have emotions and is able to fall in love, just like any regular human.
Paul Bettany Is Married To Jennifer Connelly
British actor Paul Bettany is the man tasked with bringing Vision to life. Paul Bettany is married to another Hollywood star: Jennifer Connelly. Bettany and Connelly met in Scotland back in 2003 while working on A Beautiful Mind together.
They really fell for each other and Bettany had always had a crush on Connelly since seeing her in the movie Labyrinth. He decided to reach out and even proposed to her two days later. She accepted, and they’ve since gotten married and had two children.
Drax – Dave Bautista
One of the best things about the Avengers movies and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the inclusion of the weird, wacky, and wonderful characters of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
This team is mostly made-up of alien outcasts, and they lend a lot of humor and strangeness to the Avengers world, with Drax being a key example. He’s always unintentionally hilarious and super strong too, definitely a guy you want to have on your side in a fight.
Dave Bautista Is Married to Sarah Jade
Drax is actually played by a former professional WWE wrestler named Dave Bautista, who was known as Batista in his wrestling days. He’s a big strong guy both on and off-screen and is married to Sarah Jade.
Sarah Jade is a professional dancer, and she married Dave Bautista back in 2015. Bautista was married a couple of other times in the past before meeting Sarah Jade, but his relationship with her seems extra special and stronger than ever.
Black Widow – Scarlett Johansson
Black Widow hasn’t got super strength, she can’t shoot lasers or summon magical portals, but she still manages to be one of the toughest heroes on the team, and that’s a testament to just how amazing she is.
Scarlett Johansson plays Black Widow, whose real name is Natasha Romanoff. Her past is quite mysterious, but she’s known to be a highly trained assassin and a close-quarters fighter who can take on any challenger and adapt to any situation.
Scarlett Johansson Is Dating Colin Jost
Scarlett Johansson is a huge part of what Black Widow is such an admirable character. She’s an incredible actress and has been in some high-profile relationships over the years, including a three-year marriage with actor Ryan Reynolds and another three-year marriage with a French businessman named Romain Dauriac.
Her latest relationship is with Colin Jose, a stand-up comedian who appears on Saturday Night Live. Jost and Johansson have known each other for years and have been dating since 2017.
Captain America – Chris Evans
An iconic hero in every possible way and a true American legend, Captain America sums up everything we all love about America: he’s heroic, brave, noble, patriotic, and always tries to do what’s right. And he’s been played to perfection since day one by Hollywood star Chris Evans.
Captain America starts life as a skinny soldier but gets boosted up into a super-strong, muscle-bound hunk in a scientific experiment. He tends to share leadership duties of the Avengers with Iron Man and is well-known for his amazing indestructible shield.
Ladies, Chris Evans, is actually available! As far as the latest reports go, he’s single right now but did spend some time in a relationship with Jenny Slate, an actress who he met while working on a 2016 movie called Gifted in between shooting Marvel movies.
Jenny Slate is known for her roles in shows like Parks and Recreation and House of Lies, and it seemed like she and Chris might really turn into a long-lasting thing, but the couple separated about a year after getting together.
War Machine – Don Cheadle
Iron Man’s partner War Machine has been played by Don Cheadle throughout the Iron Man and Avengers films, appearing in Captain America: Civil War as well and set to appear in Avengers: Endgame.
Like Iron Man, he wears a tough suit of armor and is known for his resistance and strength. He’s a veritable walking, talking tank and is a tremendous asset to have on the side of the Avengers in any big battle.
Don Cheadler Is in A Long-Term Relationship with Bridgid Coulter
Don Cheadler is the man behind the mask and armor of War Machine. An Oscar-nominated actor, Don Cheadle has one of the longest-lasting relationships of any of the Avengers cast members.
He’s been with his partner, Bridgid Coulter, since way back in 1992! The pair met on the set of Rosewood, which they worked on together, and fell in love, living happily ever after ever since but never actually getting married.
Hawkeye – Jeremy Renner
Hawkeye is definitely one of the coolest members of the Avengers due to his quick wit and outstanding ability to shoot arrows, bullets, and anything else with incredible accuracy. With a bow in his hands, he’s unstoppable.
Like Black Widow, he doesn’t have any particular superpower, but he’s highly trained and still a key member of the team, with his tactical training and sound strategic mind helping out in many situations.

Sadly, Jeremy Renner’s love life hasn’t been too happy in recent times. He met and married Sonni Pacheco, a Canadian model. The pair tied the knot in January of 2014 after dating for quite a while and welcoming a daughter into the world in 2013.

He’s well-known for only ever saying ‘I am Groot’ and having a hilarious friendship with Rocket and various other members of the superhero teams he meets along the way. Bad things happened to him in Infinity War, but we’re hoping he’ll come back better than ever in Endgame.

Vin Diesel likes to keep his private life private, but we still know quite a bit about his long-term romantic relationship with Mexican model Paloma Jimenez. The couple have been together for a really long time.

Sebastian Stan Might Be Dating Margarita Levieva
Sebastian Stan is a Romanian-American actor who may or may not be in a relationship with Russian-American actress Margarita Levieva. The pair were confirmed to be together back in 2014, but right now, nobody is sure if they’re still together or not.
Some actors like to live in the spotlight, but others prefer to keep their private lives private, and it might be that Sebastian and Margarita are having a great relationship but just don’t want to be the center of too much media attention.
Thor – Chris Hemsworth
Thor is more than just a superhero, he’s an actual god! When we first meet Thor, we’re a little confused by his rather odd way of speaking and strange outfit, but we quickly learn he’s one of the toughest and most awesome heroes in the whole Marvel world.
Part of what defines Thor is his mighty hammer, which he uses to bash enemy heads and summon powerful bolts of lightning. His long hair, red cape, and tough-looking body armor have also become iconic parts of his powerful persona.
Chris Hemsworth Is Married to Elsa Pataky
Thor is played by Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, who is just one of the three Hemsworth brothers, with his siblings Luke and Liam also being TV and movie stars in their own right. Chris is the middle brother and is married to Elsa Pataky.
Elsa is a Spanish model, actress, and film producer who you might have seen in the Fast and the Furious series. She and Chris started dating in 2010 and married later that year. They’ve got three children together: twin boys and a girl.
Loki – Tom Hiddleston
The villain we all can’t help falling in love with, Loki has been a fantastic presence since his first appearance in the original Avengers movie. In that film, he was the main bad guy, using his powers and status as the brother of Thor and son of Odin to try and destroy the world.
The Avengers overcome his evil forces and eventually beat him down, but Loki remained ever-present in the latter Avengers movies and developed into more of a heroic character.
Tom Hiddleston Dated Taylor Swift and Elizabeth Olsen
Loki is played with aplomb by classy English actor Tom Hiddleston, and Hiddleston recently enjoyed one of the most high-profile celebrity romances of the last decade when he started dating iconic pop sensation Taylor Swift, but the relationship ended within a few months.
As well as dating Swift, Hiddleston has also enjoyed a relationship with his Avengers co-star Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlet Witch, but, once again, the romance came to an end quite quickly.
Thanos – Josh Brolin
The Avengers have had to deal with some very tough and nasty villains over the years, and Thanos has definitely been one of the worst. A robust and colossal force of evil, Thanos desperately searches for the five ‘infinity stones’ to power his mighty gauntlet.
Thanos is definitely one of the most powerful villains in the entire Marvel Universe and is well-known for his supreme levels of strength and intelligence. He is brought to life on the big screen by veteran actor Josh Brolin.
Josh Brolin Is Married to Kathryn Boyd
Oscar-nominated actor Josh Brolin is the man who lends his voice to the mighty Thanos, and he’s had a few significant relationships over the years, once being engaged to actress Minnie Driver but now married to Kathryn Boyd, who actually worked as his assistant.
The pair got married in September of 2016 and revealed the big news in May of 2018 that they were expecting their first child. At the end of that year, they welcomed their daughter, Westlyn Reign Brolin, into the world.
Nebula – Karen Gillan
Not all of the characters in the Avengers world are purely good or purely evil. Often, we see characters who aren’t quite sure where their alignments lie and are a little confused about which side they should genuinely be fighting for, and Nebula is an excellent example of that.
The daughter of Thanos, a villain, and the sister of Gamora, a hero, Nebula has mixed feelings about the events that occur in the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy films but eventually figures things out.
Karen Gillan Dated Patrick Green
Karen Gillan is the wonderful Scottish actress who plays the role of Nebula. She was well-known to some audiences before the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy movies for her starring role in the British sci-fi show Doctor Who.
She is currently single, according to most reports. She was, however, in a long-term relationship with a photographer named Patrick Green. The pair were together for around six years before calling it a day.
Spider-Man – Tom Holland
Those who have been keeping up with Marvel movies for many years have seen several actors take on the role of Spider-Man, but one of our favorite iterations so far has got to be Tom Holland, who has really made the character his own in the Avengers movies.
Everyone’s favorite friendly neighborhood hero is a joy to watch and so relatable as he’s always amazed to be fighting alongside other superheroes and doing incredible things to save the world with his fellow Avengers.
Tom Holland Is Allegedly Dating Zendaya
This one hasn’t been fully confirmed, but there are plenty of rumors to suggest that off-screen and away from his role as Peter Parker, Tom Holland is dating actress and singer Zendaya. The pair actually met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming, with Zendaya appearing in the film as Michelle.
The two stars have denied any hints or rumors of a romance, but they have been spotted together on numerous occasions, with one photo even showing Holland leaving Zendaya’s house early one morning with a suitcase in his hand.
Star-Lord – Chris Pratt
If you ask most people for their favorite Marvel character right now, you’ll get a lot of different answers, but a whole lot of people will probably say Star-Lord. Real name Peter Quill, Star-Lord is the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
He’s a tough fighter who always seems to land on his feet, despite having a rather clumsy side. By far one of the most loveable characters in the Avengers universe, Star-Lord is played by actor Chris Pratt.
Chris Pratt Was Married to Anna Faris
For a long time, Chris Pratt had one of the very best real-life romances with the lovely Anna Faris, who is well-known for her starring roles in multiple movies and shows.
The pair met way back in 2007 while working on a film called Take Me Home Tonight. There was an instant spark, and they started to date, getting married in 2009 and having a baby boy in 2012. Sadly, they announced their separation in 2017 and got divorced a year later.
Pepper Potts – Gwyneth Paltrow
Pepper Potts is an interesting character in the Avengers franchise as she’s not a super-hero, nor is she blessed with any crazy fighting skills or superhuman abilities, but she’s still a beloved member of the cast and is played brilliantly by Gwyneth Paltrow.
Pepper Potts starts off as Tony Stark’s assistant and has enjoyed a super cute relationship with Tony throughout the movies, eventually becoming the CEO of his company.
Gwyneth Paltrow Is Married to Brad Falchuk
Gwyneth Paltrow has been in the headlines of many celebrity gossip magazines over the years and was well-known for her long-term marriage to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin until the pair eventually split up, but she got back in the dating game and is already married again.
Her partner is TV writer Brad Falchuk, who has written for and helped to create shows like American Horror Story and Glee. The pair met several years ago, and Paltrow says she fell for Falchuk in 2014.
Doctor Strange – Benedict Cumberbatch

The odd but unusual Doctor Strange is played by the always-excellent Benedict Cumberbatch, who is also well-known for his role as Sherlock Holmes and starring performances in movies like The Imitation Game. Cumberbatch is married to Sophie Hunter.
The pair first met in 2009, with Sophie working as a theater director and Cumberbatch making an appearance in one of her shows. They started chatting behind-the-scenes and felt a connection. The rest, as they say, is history.
Gamora – Zoe Saldana
Gamora is one of the most popular characters in the Marvel movies and a great example of one of the many amazing female heroes featured in both the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
Immediately recognizable with her distinctive green skin, Gamora is an unmatched warrior. She’s the sister of Nebula and one of the daughters of the evil Thanos, as well as being a key love interest for Chris Pratt’s character, Star-Lord.

You might not recognize her under all that make-up, but Gamora is played by Hollywood actress Zoe Saldana. She’s one of several Avengers cast members to be very happily married and living out a fairy tale life. Saldana is married to Marco Perego, an Italian artist.
The pair are a famous celebrity couple with fans and have spoken recently in the media about how they plan on raising their children, so maybe we’ll hear more exciting news on this soon.
The Hulk – Mark Ruffalo
Everyone’s favorite angry green giant, the Hulk is one of the strongest superheroes of all time and definitely the strongest members of the Avengers, even if there are a few debates about who might win in a fight between him and Thor.
He’s played to perfection by Mark Ruffalo, who has wholly nailed both the calm ‘Bruce Banner’ side of the Hulk and his ferocious green alter ego, striking a delicate balance between the two sides of this amazing hero.
Mark Ruffalo Is Married to Sunrise Coigney
Luckily, Mark Ruffalo is just a regular guy off-screen and doesn’t turn into a big green monster any time he stubs his toe on a door, or someone cuts him up in traffic. He’s also leading a happy life alongside his wife: Sunrise Coigney.
The pair were introduced over 20 years ago and got married just a couple of years after their first date. They’re heading into their 19th year of marriage and have three kids of their own.
Rocket – Bradley Cooper
Never judge a book by its cover! That’s what we learn the first time we meet Rocket, a small, fluffy little raccoon who seems cute and adorable at first glance but is quickly revealed to be a crazy, gun-loving, battle-hardened hero who won’t back down from any fight.
Rocket’s backstory is that he was genetically modified and experimented upon, leading him to naturally be quite an angry little guy. In spite of his temper, however, he’s shown his loyalty and friendship on many occasions.
Bradley Cooper Is Dating Irina Shayk
Rocket is voiced by hunky actor Bradley Cooper, well-known for his appearances in the Hangover films and other great movies like Silver Linings Playbook. In real life, Cooper is currently dating Irina Shayk, a Russian supermodel.
The pair have been together since 2015 and have had a baby girl named Lea together. However, they haven’t yet announced any plans to take their relationship to the next level and get married, although some rumors suggest they might have gotten secretly engaged.
Scarlet Witch – Elizabeth Olsen
One of the coolest characters in the universe of the Avengers, Scarlet Witch actually started off as quite a villainous presence and is seen doing battle against the Avengers and working with the evil Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which was the second movie in the series.
Eventually, however, she sees sense and realizes that she should join up with the good guys and use her amazing magical powers to help them. Her mysterious abilities include the power of telekinesis, matter manipulation, and more.
Elizabeth Olsen Is Dating Robbie Arnett
Scarlet Witch is played by Elizabeth Olsen, who is the younger sister of the famous Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and actually appeared in a few of their productions when she was very young.
Now that she’s all grown up and out in the world of dating, she’s currently seeing a musician named Robbie Arnett. Arnett is a member of the indie pop band Milo Greene. He plays multiple instruments and sings, making him a multi-talented performer, just like Elizabeth.
Iron Man – Robert Downey Jr.
Perhaps the most successful piece of casting in the entire Marvel cinematic universe is Robert Downey Jr. in the role of Tony Stark. Downey Jr. fits the role perfectly, bringing the witty, brilliant, ever-so-slightly arrogant Tony Stark to life.
As Iron Man, Tony Stark is generally regarded as the leader and founder of the Avengers and makes use of his enormous wealth and vast resources to give them an HQ and the equipment they need to battle evil and save the day.
Robert Downey Jr. Is Married to Susan Levin
On-screen, we’ve seen that Tony Stark has enjoyed an up and down relationship with his assistant, Pepper Potts, but behind-the-scenes, Robert Downey Jr. is actually married to Susan Levin, who works as a film producer.
The pair have been married for over a dozen years now and first met back in 2003 while working on the horror movie Gothika, which also starred Halle Berry. This is one superhero love story that has really gone the distance!
Mantis – Pom Klementieff
Fans really love the Guardians of the Galaxy movies as they introduce us to heroes we might never have known existed from some amazing alien worlds and species. Mantis is a great example, and she has a beautiful, unique ability as an empath.
Essentially, her powers allow her to connect with people’s feelings and then change them, making them calm, happy, angry, sad, and more. She uses these powers to significant effect in Avengers: Infinity War.
Pom Klementieff Is Allegedly Dating Chris Pratt
Here’s some big, big news for Marvel movie fans. There’s a possibility that Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord in the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy films, may be dating his co-star, Pom Klementieff.
A lot of rumors have been going around about this potential romance, and they all started when Pratt shared a photo of him and Klementieff after they allegedly ‘ran into’ each other while on vacation in Sao Paulo.
Maria Hill – Cobie Smulders
There are many different types of hero seen in the Avengers movies. A lot of our focus is on the superhuman strength and crazy powers of heroes like Scarlet Witch and Iron Man, but there are also the various agents of Shield doing fantastic work to save the world too.
Agent Maria Hill is one of those characters, starting off as a simple officer and later getting promoted to be the Nick Fury’s right-hand-woman. Without her help, the Avengers would have found themselves in even more deadly situations.
Cobie Smulders Is Married to Taran Killam
Maria Hill is played by actress Cobie Smulders, who is also well-known for starring in the classic sitcom How I Met Your Mother. She’s a Canadian actress who is married to an American actor and comedian called Taran Killam.
Killam has written for shows like Mad TV and Saturday Night Live. He and Cobie dated for a few years before getting engaged in 2009 and married in 2012. They’ve had two daughters together named Shaelyn and Joelle.
