Have you ever played “Spot the Difference”? It’s basically two side-by-side pictures that look identical on first glance, but the game is trying to find the differences between them. It’s the perfect way to test your “attention to detail” skills and have fun all at the same time. Some of these anomalies are easy to find, and others are a bit more difficult. Sometimes, a number or a color is slightly off, and other times something disappears from the original photo.
We collected the best “Spot the Difference” photos we could find and looked for all the differences. It wasn’t easy, but we wanted to make this game as fair as possible, so if you can’t spot all the differences, simply scroll down for the answers. Let’s see how good you are at this game. And trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds. Okay, are you ready?

Craftswoman – Three Differences
Retirement is a stage in life that everybody is excited to reach. Without the stress of working, you can finally kick back, relax, and start doing all the things you never had time for. A common hobby for senior citizens is doing some therapeutic craftwork. The wonderful thing about art is that you can do everything from painting to pottery.
As you can see, this woman chose knitting. Look how happy she seems; I cannot wait until my retirement. But don’t let that smile fool you, there are still a few differences between these side-by-side pictures, three to be exact. Here is a little hint though, two of the three things were removed in the second image.
Craftswoman – Answers
Did you find them all? Let’s start with the hint I gave you, the two things missing in the second picture. The first one is a little hard to notice, but look at the chair across from the woman; the handle is missing in the second image. That’s not the only thing that disappeared in the second image; the woman’s watch is also gone.
Now that we got those two out of the way let’s focus on the third difference. This one is a little harder to spot. It looks like someone is hanging a flag from their window. Well, in the second picture, the shape on the flag is completely different!
Spanish Steps, Rome – Four Differences
If you are planning on taking a trip to Rome shortly, you need to check out the Spanish Steps located in the northern part of the city. Like the Colosseum, Vatican City, and Trevi Fountain, this is a perfect place for tourists to visit. The list of beautiful sites to see from the Spanish Steps is underrated.
But these gorgeous steps were featured in numerous classic movies, including Roman Holiday starring Audrey Hepburn. Try not to get distracted by the beautiful steps and look closely at these side-by-side photos. You’ll notice that there are quite a few differences, four in total. Let’s see how many you can spot!
Spanish Steps, Rome – Answers
Okay, first things first, let’s start with the most obvious. The differences in the building in the background are the most noticeable. In the first picture, one of the bell tower windows is open, and in the second picture, it’s closed. But that’s not all. A small dome mysteriously appeared on the left side of the building, and it’s nowhere to be found in the first image.
The last two differences are not in the background; these have more to do with the people in the photo and are a little harder to find. One of the tourists is wearing a purple shirt, but it was changed to red in the second picture. Another tourist was just completely removed.
Model on the Beach – Three Differences
Every once in a while, we all wish we could just escape the stress of everyday life and just relax. Nothing sounds better than going to a beach in the middle of nowhere with no one else around and nothing but peace and tranquility. This woman looks like she is living the dream, enjoying the sun with no cares in the world.
I mean, the light blue skies, fluffy clouds, sandy beach, and turquoise water just seem so soothing. But don’t get too caught up in dreamland because there are three differences between these pictures. Try to find as many as you can. Do you think you can find them all?
Model on the Beach – Answers
So, to be fair, some of these differences are a lot easier to find than others. We’ll start with the most difficult difference, in my opinion. For these “Spot the Difference” photos, it’s important to pay attention to the background. The bushes are filled with sticks, but if you look close enough, you’ll notice one is missing.
The next two differences are not in the background but rather on the model herself. These are a bit more obvious, but still tricky. In the first photo, she is wearing an earring that is missing from the second photo. Also, her nail polish is a different color in the second image. Were you able to find all the inconsistencies?
Eiffel Tower – Four Differences
When you think of the most romantic destinations, Paris usually comes to mind. People have said you shouldn’t take your girlfriend to Paris unless you’re planning on popping the question. It’s true. If my boyfriend took me to Paris, I would think he was going to propose… but of course, I do need a boyfriend first.
There are so many beautiful sites to visit, but the most famous is the iconic Eiffel Tower. Reaching this landmark is every traveler’s dream, and you get a stunning view of the French capital. If you’re planning on taking a trip to Paris, you should probably set aside a special day to visit the Eiffel Tower. Try and find all four differences between these pictures.
Eiffel Tower – Answers
To be honest, not all of the differences in this picture are obvious. If you take a look at the horse on the left-hand side of the picture, you will notice it’s slightly different in the second image. See? The leg is more curled than in the original. The exact opposite thing happened to the horse on the right. This one was tricky, so if you caught it, good job!
That’s not the only difference. Not far from the horse statue on the left, you can see a couple of pedestrians walking. However, in the second picture, they have disappeared. And lastly, two lamps are missing in the second picture. You have to look really closely to catch that one.
Gasoline – Four Differences
Wow! This is one colorful gas station. There is something about the rustic style that makes me feel like this picture was taken back in the ‘60s. I can definitely imagine a bunch of classic retro cars coming to a gas station like this. You know, some old school Cadillacs and Mustangs passing through.
Nowadays, we’re stuck with boring modern-looking gas stations. Definitely not as intriguing as this place. But try not to get too distracted by all the signs and colors; there are actually quite a few differences between these side-by-side photos. Pay close attention; let’s see if you can catch all four of them.
Gasoline – Answers
So as you probably guessed, all of the inconsistencies in this gas station picture can be found in the signs. The one that stood out the most to me is the sign with the word “gas” written on it. In the second picture, the ‘A’ was replaced with an ‘S,’ and spells out “GSS.” The rest of the differences are a little less obvious.
The next sign that changes in the second image is the one that says “One Way.” In the second photo, it says, “One Day.” The last two kind of go together. The Tulsa Tea sign was swapped with the Donico Gasoline sign. These last ones were pretty hard. How many did you find?
The Simpsons – Four Differences
The Simpsons are America’s favorite yellow family. The adult cartoon has been making audiences laugh for decades, and the family has become a staple in American pop culture. Here, you see the picture-perfect family looking as happy as ever, but not everything is how it seems.
Take a good look at these side-by-side pictures of the Simpsons. Sure, at first glance, it looks like they are just posing for a nice family photo, but don’t be fooled! There are some differences between these two pictures, and they are so obvious that you just might miss them. Pay very close attention, or you’ll miss them! Let’s see how many you can catch!
The Simpson – Answers
Did you find them all? The first glaring difference is that Marge is only wearing her necklace in the first photo. But did you notice that Lisa is also only wearing a necklace in the first one? The next one is a little bit trickier, but if you’re good at paying attention to detail, you probably found it before I did.
Look at the garage window in the background. You’ll notice the window is missing from the second version of the photo. The last difference is Maggie’s bow is missing in the second image. If you found them don’t get too confident, these “Spot the Difference” photos are only going to get harder.
Mona Lisa – One Difference
Do you happen to be an expert in art? If you answered yes, it might not help you in this situation. Here, we have two side-by-side pictures of the Mona Lisa that appear to be identical. Even if you are familiar with art and the original painting, this one might throw you for a loop.
This one took me a while to find… I had to take a break and come back. Pay very close attention because, again, this is not easy to catch. Speaking of Mona Lisa, did you know that’s not actually her name? The painting is believed to be a woman named Lisa Gherardini. The name Mona Lisa roughly translates to “My Lady Lisa.”
Mona Lisa – Answer
Unlike the previous “Spot the Differences,” this change is a little more subtle. I bet even you experts struggled to find the difference. Well, that’s because it’s hidden in the background. If you look at the road, you’ll see that both pictures have it so you would easily write it off as a similarity.
However, if you’re good at noticing details, you probably realized that the first picture shows a little bit more of the road than the other one. If you didn’t get it, don’t worry! Anyone could have missed that. What you may not know about the Mona Lisa is that Leonardo da Vinci never finished it. He died in 1519 and left his uncompleted works with his assistant; the renowned Mona Lisa was one of those paintings.
Gazing at the Ocean – Two Differences
This picture is pretty creepy. Something about that girl staring out into the ocean reminds me of the closing scene in a horror movie. My eyes are immediately drawn to that spooky window and the girl in the white gown. This looks like some kind of abandoned house or even mental asylum.
I bet ghosts are running around there. We can’t see them, of course, because they are spirits, but it looks like the type of place they would want to hang out in. But don’t get too freaked out. There is also one significant difference to look for. Don’t worry. There is nothing paranormal lurking in the background.
Gazing at the Ocean – Answer
The most obvious difference is that there is a moon in the second image, but the second one is a little more difficult to catch. If you’re like me, your eyes were probably immediately drawn to the water. I spent several minutes looking in the ocean, hoping I would find a fish or something. But that’s not what happened. Instead, I should have focused on the actual room.
Once you refocus your attention away from the little details, you will see how simple this difference is. It’s on the wall. In the second photo, there is a hole on the wall under the window. It’s not there in the first picture. Were you able to catch this one difference? Because it took me a little while, I’m not gonna lie.
Running to the Finish Line – Three Differences
Running is extremely healthy. It’s a great way to get your blood flowing and get your cardio in. Unfortunately, many people prefer to stay at home and watch TV than go outside and sweat, but not this girl. This track runner has been practicing for years, and someone snapped a picture of her jumping over the bar.
However, there are some differences between the original photo and the picture next to it. They are a little difficult to find at first, but once you notice them, you won’t believe you couldn’t find them before. There are a total of three differences between the first and second images.
Running to the Finish Line – Answers
Did you find them all? For those of you who haven’t, let’s start with her shoes. This one is easy to miss at first glance, but take a look at her shoes. In the first image, the soles of her sneakers are purple, but in the second version, the bottoms of her shoes are red. The next difference is also on the runner herself.
The number on her shirt says is 15 in the original photo; in the other one, it is 151. This one was easier to find, in my opinion. The last one is on the bar she is jumping over. On one picture, it reads “Bedfor” and in the other “Bedford.” Did you find all the differences?
Mario and Luigi – Five Differences
Who doesn’t love playing Nintendo games? Mario and Luigi have become video game icons, easily recognized by all Americans. Even if you didn’t grow up with them, you probably know these characters. You don’t have to be a video game fan to identify their signature overalls, mustache, and hats.
Even though they are just cartoons, Mario and Luigi are staples in the Nintendo universe. However, that doesn’t mean you’ll notice the differences between these two images right away. There are a whopping four differences between these side-by-side pictures. Try and see how many you can find.
Mario and Luigi – Answers
There are so many differences between these photos that only an expert could find them all. If you managed to spot all four, you should give yourself a pat on the back for your attention to detail. For those of you who are still trying to figure all of them out, let’s start with Mario’s eyes. They are looking in different directions.
The most obvious one, in my opinion, is on Luigi’s hat; the ‘L’ was changed to a ‘D’ in the second picture. Another blatant one is that the button on Luigi’s overalls is missing in the second picture. Luigi is also missing a stripe on his sock, and there is red behind Mario’s shoe.
